Meet Kika K :

Hi there! I am Leticia Kollhoff, known around the house as Kika hence Kika K Photography. I am a photographer based out of Plano, TX but I am more than willing to travel all over the Metroplex. I am a dog lover, shower singer, exercise enthusiast, Netflix binger, swift runner, aspiring chef, church goer, a little OCD and I even love beer.

While trying to ace all of my journalism classes in college and working full time as a server at a Mexican restaurant, I found out that I could have a little bit more fun with my career. I had always dreamed of being a journalist, reporting the latest events of the ever changing world. I knew I could reach and help my community by keeping them informed of what was happening around them. And I loved the idea of traveling around chasing the news. I could do all that with a thousand words, or I could use a picture to tell a story. That’s when I decided to take a couple photography classes and it wasn’t long before I was completely hooked.

I’ve always been a fan of photography. Something about being able to freeze time and capture a moment that otherwise will be gone forever captivated me. I learned a lot about photography in college, the history behind it and all the technical aspects of it but It wasn’t until I became a mother of a beautiful baby boy that I realized the real importance of a picture. I could stare at my baby forever, watch him smile while he is sleeping and try to remember his angelic face for a lifetime but I knew a memory in my head could fade away with time. I needed something concrete to look at that would have these moments captured for me. That’s when I decided to pick up my camera again and made it my mission to learn everything possible about photography so that I would never miss a precious moment of my growing baby.

Now, I love looking back at those photographs because they bring me back to the moment that I froze. The first bath, a first smile or our first family picture. And I want you to have that too. Whether it be that long due family picture you’ve been meaning to take but never find the time to gather everyone together or you simply want to capture yourself at your best with a beautiful portrait, I can help you with it all.
